With a Rabbit, Butterfly, Bird and a Nest
Hyacinth Easter Arrangement
What you need:
- 1 Hyacinth in a 6" plastic pot
- 1 vertical rabbit (mine was 8" T)
- 1 bird (5.5 " L)
- a 3.5" Diam. nest
- 3-4 eggs (1" - 1.5" L)
- a grapevine
- 1 bag Sheet Moss (found here)
- a baggie of Spanish Moss (found here)
- 3" butterfly
- 3 pheasant feathers (12" L) (found here)

- heavy duty scissors (99 cent store)

- scotch tape

This Spring arrangement has little lifelike animals, Peter Rabbit, a bird, a nest with eggs and a butterfly. It also has pheasant feathers because they look really cool. Dried grapevine and sheet grass add a natural feel, and the bulbs, eggs, and flowers exemplify nature's annual renewal.
If you have your supplies, let's begin.
You will start with an 11 inch crystal or glass plate.
Here are your materials. (We will use the cloche another time.)
Cut strips of sheet moss the same height as the pot, about 4.5 inches.
Hot glue top, bottom and side edges of sheet grass.
Quickly push glued grass around plastic planter.
Cut end of baggie 1 inch x 2.75 inches L. for rabbit slipper (to keep dirt off)
Put on foot. Fold and tape the back. Repeat for the other foot.
Slide a 6 inch floral pick inside the rabbit's jacket.
Add grapevine, nest, rabbit. Add Spanish Moss around rabbit's feet.
Clip bird on nest.
Put Spanish Moss around hyacinth. Put feathers on side.
Place butterfly in back.
Have something to look at on all sides.
The bird and Spanish Moss have natural grey colors.
