Make this for your mother, your significant other, your spouse, your friend or your house. This classic Valentine’s Day arrangement is very large and sits in a beautiful tall Italian vase. It has quite a volume of flowers. The whole arrangement stands 22 inches tall by 18 inches wide and makes a very dramatic presentation. An arrangement like this would cost between $300 -$500 from a florist shop. The white glazed Italian vase has a cupid like baby Bacchus figurine, grapes and a decorative bow in raised relief…fun for Valentine’s Day.

FLORAL TIP: The construction of this arrangement was fairly simple. It was made with 2 very large grocery store arrangements of long stem Roses and mixed flowers, and one additional dozen of long stem red Roses. (All of the flowers in the arrangement and the numbers of flowers used are listed above.) After stripping off leaves that would fall below the water line, the bouquets were cut to 18.25 inches and semi deconstructed. The Hydrangeas were pulled out and cut to 15.5 inches. Then the bouquets were put in the vase with one hydrangea in center front and one in center back. The extra dozen roses were added to the sides along with Ruscus greens and Silver Dollar Eucalyptus.

This is a double sided arrangement. You could make it with only 1 mixed Rose bouquet and 1 extra dozen Roses if you intend to display it where you will only see one side, such as on a mantel or an entry table that sits against a wall.

FLORAL TIP: When stripping leaves that will fall below the water line, carefully cut the low shoots off the Silver Dollar Eucalyptus and keep them to fill in as you add the Roses to the sides.

FLORAL TIP: You need to wire your roses so their heads won’t droop. For instructions see: https://www.floristinyou.com/prep
