1st Bloom Garden Roses & Tulips

What you need:

  • 2 very large garden roses ( cut abt. 9 inches)

  • 1 doz. tulips (cut 9 - 12 inches)

  • 1 bunch bright green hydrangea (cut from 6-11 inches)

  • 1 small bunch Silver Dollar Eucalyptus (cut 17 inches)

  • 6 Camellias (cut 7 - 11 inches)

  • 5 Boston Fern stems (cut 16 inches)

  • 1 Asparagus fern stem (cut 16 inches)

  • packet of floral food (purchase here)

  • 18 gauge floral wire cut into thirds

  • 1 brick wet pack floral foam (purchase

    here)

  • 1 pedestal vase.  Here's a similar one:(purchase here)

    Supplies Used:

  • pruning shears (purchase here)

  • produce knife

  • 1/2 inch clear waterproof floral tape (purchase here)

  • scissors

The first blooms for roses are always the biggest. I was surprised the other day when I as I was driving home I noticed some very large pink roses in the side garden bed. Upon examination, I saw the blooms were 5 inches in diameter, and I thought, “Oh, I have to use these in an arrangement.” So voila! There were matching tulips in the grocery store and these lovely green hydrangeas, so I used those along with ferns from the garden bed and my camellias which are still in bloom.
