It’s mid January and still a little brisk outside in Southern California, but the camellias are in bloom. It’s always a delight to bring these lovelies inside from the garden to grace the dining room table.

This arrangement is made in a creamer from the Spode Cabinet Collection called the Melrose Milk Jug. A friend gave this little beauty to me for Christmas. This floral patterned creamer with gilt decoration is a reproduction piece made from drawings from the archives. It sits a mighty three and a half inches tall.

A vintage porcelain Geisha in yellow and white stands admiringly by the camellias. She usually lives in the china hutch but makes her appearance every once in a while. Have fun with your camellias. They are short lived but gorgeous, and if you have a camellia bush you can afford to replace one or two as needed. Now if you have your flowers, mini pitcher or creamer and tools let’s begin.
